ASUS Zenbook And Vivobook 2022 Laptops Use 120hz OLED

ASUS has introduced a series of new laptops at the Global “The Pinnacle of Performance” event, this event focused on the Zenbook and Vivobook lines . The newly introduced laptops all come with the latest processors from AMD and Intel, as well as OLED displays for all, many of which feature a high 120Hz refresh rate.

The range also features an improved thermal design to keep things cool. There is also an Antibacterial coating that is applied to the surface layer of the laptop, especially the most frequently touched including the keyboard, touchpad, palm rest area, and fingerprint sensor.

ASUS Zenbook Pro 16X OLED

First there is the new ASUA Zenbook Pro 16X OLED, which has a more unique screen display. Because it does have an OLED panel, and when compared to the last generation Zenbook Pro 15, the screen is now a little bigger and taller with an aspect ratio of 16:10. The screen is an Ultra HD (4K) panel with an aspect ratio of 16:10, and supports DisplayHDR True Black 500 of course with 100% DCI-P3 coverage.

ASUS Zenbook Pro 16X OLED

Now bringing Intel H-series processors up to Core i9-12900H with 14 cores (6P + 8E) and graphics features upgraded up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060. All systems now have a maximum TDP of 140W, which means they will have more performance – ASUS promises performance Tripled CPU and GPU performance by 50% – albeit at the expense of more heat output and power consumption. That’s why ASUS also built a new 3D vapor chamber cooling system in addition to the regular heat pipes to keep things running smoothly.

One thing that is unique about this laptop is its design, because the keyboard is placed on a hinge that lifts the laptop open. This is similar to the Zenbook Pro Duo model, which has a secondary display. The touchpad is now 84% larger and has haptic feedback and a pressure sensor – and has room for a rotating wheel next to the trackpad, ideal for professional creative applications like Adobe Creative Cloud.

This laptop is made of 6000 aluminum and is under 17mm thick, so it’s still quite portable despite the thick internals. The ASUS Zenbook 16X OLED also has some RGB lighting on the ASUS logo, below the keyboard, and the buttons. Lighting can also be used to display notifications and alerts for things like low battery.

ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED

Next up is the new Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED , again – it’s also a huge upgrade over the existing Zenbook Duo 14, and even less so from the original Zenbook Duo. This laptop is equipped with Intel H-series processors up to Core i9-12900H14 core (6P + 8E), which means there is a 3.6 times performance increase over the original Zenbook Duo. Additionally, it comes with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card , which ASUS says can deliver up to 3.7 times the performance of the previous generation.

The display has also been upgraded to a new 2.8K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, something many are seeing in this new lineup. The previous 14-inch Zenbook Duo model only had a 60Hz Full HD display, so it’s a massive upgrade. Another major improvement is the new 16:10 aspect ratio, which is ideal for productivity, especially in creative applications. Plus, it now boasts 500 nits of brightness , as opposed to 400 nits on the last-gen Zenbook Duo 14, and also covers 100% of DCI-P3. The second screen has a size of 12.7 inches, with other specifications similar to the main screen.

The laptop also has a solid port supply with Thunderbolt 4, USB Type-A, HDMI, and an SD card reader with support for SD Express 7.0 speeds .

ASUS Zenbook Pro 15 Flip OLED and Zenbook Pro 17

Complementing the Zenbook Pro lineup, ASUS also announced the Zenbook Pro 15 Flip convertible and the Zenbook Pro 17 laptop.  The first is a 15-inch convertible laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-12700H processor and Intel Arc A370M graphics , plus 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD. This model comes with a 15.6-inch OLED display with 2.8K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, and has a large 96Wh battery.

Meanwhile, the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 is the first 17-inch Zenbook laptop , unlike the others, this laptop uses an IPS panel , of course high-end. 2.5K NanoEdge display resolution with 165Hz refresh rate, and supported up to AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU . It is also equipped with up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 2TB SSD with a super fast read speed of 6,500MB/s. Something new and different here is the support for USB4 , which is still rare on AMD laptops, of course it provides a similar experience to Thunderbolt, which is usually exclusive to Intel devices.

Zenbook S 13 OLED and Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED

Complementing the Zenbook lineup with a few other standard devices, the Zenbook S 13 OLED and Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED are two premium laptops for the more mainstream . As the name suggests, one is “convertible” and the other is “clamshell”, and it now comes with a 2.8K OLED display . The display reaches peak brightness of up to 550 nits and of course 100% DCI-P3 support.

Inside the Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED, there are 12th generation Intel P-series up to Core i7-1260P with 12 cores and 16 threads . You also get up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Meanwhile, the clamshell version is powered by up to AMD Ryzen 7 6800U , and up to 16GB RAM, and 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Both models also have a 67Wh battery.

ASUS Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED

It’s meant for ultralight laptops , and both are thin at 15mm thick and weighing around 1kg (1.1kg for the Flip model), that’s portable. The downside of the clamshell model is that it doesn’t have Thunderbolt support due to an AMD processor, while the flip model has a total of three Thunderbolt 4 ports. There are no ports other than USB-C/Thunderbolt and a headphone jack, and a card reader slot.

ASUS Vivobook Pro 14X, 15X, and 16X OLED

Moving on to the Vivobook lineup, ASUS introduced several new Vivobook Pro laptops, including the Vivobook 14X, 15X, and 16X OLED . Just like other laptops, they all feature OLED screens with a refresh rate of 120Hz, with varying sizes and resolutions.

The ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X OLED is available with up to 14-core Intel Core i9-12900H or AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX 8-c0re, as well as NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics , making it the most powerful laptop among laptops. The display is unique with a 16-inch panel and a 16:10 ratio, and is the world’s first laptop to feature a 3.2K OLED 120Hz panel . The battery is also big at 90Wh, and the entire laptop is made up of a metal chassis. This laptop also has a digital dial or DialPad built into the top left of the touchpad, which can be useful in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office applications.

ASUS Vivobook Pro 14X, 15X, and 16X OLED

The Vivobook Pro 15X OLED comes with processors up to Intel Core i7-12700H or AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX , as well as NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 , still using a very powerful engine. The slightly conventional 15.6-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio , but still a 2.8K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, is among the first laptops to have a screen like this at that size. Unlike the Pro 16X and Pro 14X OLED , this one doesn’t sport an all-metal design, but has an anti-bacterial coating like the others. so it stays clean longer. The battery is 76Wh.

Lastly, the Vivobook Pro 14X OLED is powered by an Intel Core i9-12900H processor with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics . It’s less powerful than the larger model, which is to be expected for its size. Additionally, it has a 14.5-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 16:10 aspect ratio like the 16-inch version. It has an all-metal design and although the battery is smaller (70Wh) to match the body, it can still last longer than the 15-inch model thanks to a smaller screen and more power-efficient GPU.

Vivobook S 14X OLED and Vivobook S 16X OLED

Lastly, ASUS introduced the new Vivobook S series , divided into the new Vivobook S 14X OLED and Vivobook S 16X OLED. Both laptops are powered by an Intel Core i7-12700H or AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor , and both have 16:10 OLED displays, but with big differences.

The Vivobook S 14X OLED comes with a 14.5-inch 2.8K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, similar to the laptop above. However, the 16-inch model sports a 4K Ultra HD OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate , for those who want to opt for resolution over refresh rate. Both laptops feature a premium full metal design and a 70Wh battery.

Vivobook S 14X 15X OLED

There’s also the new Vivobook S 14 OLED and Vivobook S 15 OLED. The Vivobook S 15 OLED has a 15.6-inch OLED panel with 2.8K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, coming in a more traditional 16:9 aspect ratio. Meanwhile, the Vivobook S 14 OLED has a 14-inch OLED display with a 2.8K resolution, but a lower 90Hz refresh rate. However, it still has a sprawling 16:10 aspect ratio. Both models are not full metal .

ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Steven Harrington and Philip Colbert edition

For users who want something more personal, ASUS has also announced two special editions of the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED . Last year ASUS launched the Vivobook 13 Salte OLED, but this special edition features extra elements designed in collaboration with renowned artists Steven Harrington and Philip Colbert .

Of the many lines of laptops released by ASUS above, it is not yet known which ones will enter Indonesia and the exact price. Hopefully Asus Indonesia brings the best.
